I tried to install the plugin and I got this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function bp_core_is_multisite() in /home/xind/public_html/wp-content/plugins/buddypress-classifieds/bp-classifieds.php on line 13

And it's broken the admin backend. I don't think I know how to fix it so I'm going to remove it for now. When my programmer gets online I'll see if he can help, or if somebody here happens to know what caused this...

Are there install instructions written anywhere?

I can not get this to work. I am using the ~/plugins/bp-invitefriends.php as the BBAuth page. There is no read only choice for Required access scopes.
Has anybody made this work and if so how. Thanks.

Really? Still no resolution, still no plugin update. Is this group even still kicking? There's been little to no activity and I'm still stuck with the extra-groups issue.

So far, I've managed to get the damn thing to write the fields in the database, but no matter what I do, I can't get them -out- of there. Am I supposed to hard-code the calls directly into the groups page template or what? The function that exists and is supposed to get the fields out of the database doesn't work for me.

I'm left with only the option of manually retrieving them. Lovely.

Also, the "Create" function that plugs into the "Create a group" buddypress routine simply DOES NOT write the extra fields to the database, regardless of what I change in the actual code in the plugin files. You have to manually EDIT the group via the buddypress admin menu (front-end or back-end, makes no difference) for the extra fields to actually get written to the database.

I have NO idea why this is; both functions are exactly the same! A little help would be greatly appreciated here.

-thanks

I tried to install 6 times the bpdev plugin. Some time things works and sometimes not. really mess and boring search answer here. Broken links, the admins dont talk, when talk, just some tips hard to understand, without trusting explanation. I´m fell in the game with admin users here. The installation package must have the Nostradamus included!

Well, my flick and you tube dont work at all! Sometimes a i got error callback, sometimes icon dont appear, sometimes appers errror messg in profile page.

I downloded the "last trunk" (impossible to know wich version is the last here) and not work. U guys need to improve the information about. Nothing works...admin, go to downloads and try to get something, every link broken!!!!!!!

I m using wpmu2.9 , buddypress 1.1.3 (i have the 1.2, but bpdev plugin simply dont work) and BPDEV i dont know the version, in that "lot of" folders wich means plugins tells me version 0.3, and in the foruns i see 0.9 answers, more mass....

Sorry u guys, i just want to help improve buddypress...it´s awesome, but the users are lost! It´s hard to find a real version with decent READ ME files to help peoples who lost 15 days trying to make this working?

I have a question if the admins can answer, if not too busy.

I wanna members editing his sidebar widgets in the backend menu Widgets, to add widgets to profile pages sidebars, each users separeted, cos, if i put a widget in the Profile sidebar, all user will se the same widgets, and i wanna diferent widgets for different users profile, it´s possible? plugin? hack theme? or what?

I know u admins knows everything, make everything, and if u can be clear to explain how to insltall the bpdev plugin and make it works, ...if u can help a poor guy who is lost with many mess information, please.
i´m trying again, and again install bpdev plugin, and now, the icons youtube and flickr dont appear.

I just have bpdev plugins and buddypress installed. I´m almost giving up and try another plataaform, but i like BD and i will still trying..
Thanx for help and sorry, but i´m desesparate and confusing...
Thank you very much!

First the editing box is so narrow that it is difficult to use. But the biggest problem is that it is displaying the html code instead of carrying out the code. Paragraph, bold and link tags are displayed instead of creating paragraphs, bolding text or creating links

I'm using WPMU 2.8.6 and Buddypress 1.1.3, so I try out BP-DEV plugin, but without success...
Why? Because this project seems in sleep mode, or in worst case is dead for ever...

So in my case, when I turn off the Search login bar I lose the Rounded corners. Also, I want to change the color of the Blue Search login bar, yet want to keep the rounded corners. Where is the color #324769 so I can change it. I see the creation of a "bpdev-theme-css.php" file with all the css but inside that file I do not see any color information for the CSS.

If it is dynamic, an awsome feature would be to add a field in admin to the bp-dev theme to change the colors of certain larger elements like background, login bar color and userbar color.

Here's another fix I found for the preview images to show up from youtube:

					$this->content = $item->get_description();
$parts = explode("=", $this->url);
$parts = explode("&", $parts[1]);

Hi,

  Yes, I too had the same issue. In fact I joined just so I could post my found bugs and how I fixed them to help out around here:

  Here's the fix in bpdev-youtube.php:
function bpdev_youtube_setup_nav() {

    global $bp, $bpdev;

    bp_core_new_nav_item( array(
'name' => __( 'Youtube', 'buddypressdev' ),
'slug' => $bpdev->youtube->slug,
'position' => 80,
'screen_function' => 'youtube_show_settings',
'default_subnav_slug' => 'show'
) );

	#bp_core_add_nav_item( __('Youtube', 'buddypressdev'), $bpdev->youtube->slug );
#bp_core_add_nav_default( $bpdev->youtube->slug, 'youtube_show_settings', 'show' ); //Set aggregator_blog_settings as default page

It has been way too long for there not to be an answer to this.

Hello again,

More progress:

groups_new_wire_post ( groupID, content)

... does the trick. Unfortunately it still doesn't update the Group or Site-wide activity feed. I'm working on that now - I think it's:

bp_activity_record( $item_id, $component_name, $component_action, $is_private, $secondary_item_id, $user_id, $secondary_user_id, $recorded_time )

If there's a better way, I'm all ears!

Ok, I've made some progress. It turns out this command works just fine:

groups_new_wire_post ( $pptw_groupID, $pptw_wire_content);

But... no variable is being passed to the "item_id" field in the "wp_bp_group_wire" table, so the wire post does not show up on any group wire (nor any other activity feeds for that matter).

Is there another bp command I can use to specify the item_id as well?

And how do I get it to show the new wire post on the site-wide and group activity feeds?

Thanks!

Hi,

I've been trying to write a simple plugin that, upon publishing a new blog post, automatically posts something like "johnny has just posted 'blog post title' in the Software group" to a group's wire.

I'm not much of a PHP guy but I thought I'd be able to figure this out a little quicker than I have so far ;)

Is there a simple command to send a new wire post to a group's wire? I've tried using:

post_wire( 'myuser', 'mypass', '3', 'hello')

and

BPDEV_XMLRPC_Groups::post_wire( 'myuser', 'mypass', 3, 'hello')

... but nothing seems to happen with either.

This must be simple... yes? Is there a straight-forward buddypress command I can use to accomplish this?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers,

Dave.

Hey,

I was just wondering if any development was being made on this plugin as it is really cool, however it seems it currently only supports calls for Group data.

Are there any plans to extend this out to messaging, profile data etc?

Thanks, James :-)

Hey fellows!

I've tryed for hours and i can't go on, so, please, help me!

I need to retrieve a user's profile data, but i can't figure out how to do that.

I've tryed to make a function that do this for me based in the loop of the template file 'profile-loop.php', but i can't get a specific user data by giving the function the user id, can I?

I've used the following loop

while (bp_profile_fields()) {
bp_profile_field();
if (bp_field_has_data() ) {

        bp_the_profile_field_name();
echo " => ";
bp_the_profile_field_value();
echo "
";

        }
}

Hi! I followed the steps in the readme to install the plugin: successfully installed core, then installed groups-extra, renamed the file on the server from .sample to .php then went back and activated the new plugin in admin.

When I create a group I see my new fields, however no matter what I write, the values do -not- get written to the database. I've checked from the front-end (nothing appears) and from phpmyadmin (table is empty).

I'm not sure what I'm missing here. bbpress 1.1.2 on wpmu 2.8.5.2.

Yes, that's a good question.
I can install the plugins but they do not show up where they should.
Example: TinyMCE does not show up at all
3 weeks no answer?
